Trading Mobile App Design
Overview
SFAST is not just another trading app—it's a transformative platform
designed for investors in Indonesia. Developed to bridge the gap between
traditional and modern trading experiences, SFAST provides a seamless, intuitive
interface for managing investments in both stocks and mutual funds.
I
took on the challenge of building the SFAST mobile application from scratch, as
there was no existing mobile app for the platform. My role as Product Designer
encompassed everything from creating user flows to developing high-fidelity
wireframes.

The Challange
Creating an app that could stand out in a market full of outdated and overly complex trading platforms was no small task. We needed to develop an app that was not only powerful and feature-rich but also intuitive and easy to use, catering to both seasoned investors and beginners.
Goals
- User-Centric Design: Develop an intuitive, user-friendly interface.
- Advanced Trading Tools: Integrate powerful features like SF Quotes, Smart Order, and SFAST Plan.
- Comprehensive Reporting: Provide detailed profit/loss and client statements for complete financial transparency.
- Flexible Interface: Introduce both light and dark modes to
cater to user preferences.
Approach
- Hick’s Law: Simplified decision-making by reducing choices at each step, especially in complex features like Smart Order and SFAST Plan.
- Fitts’s Law: Designed larger touch targets for critical actions like buying and selling to enhance usability.
- Law of Consistency: Maintained a consistent design language throughout the app, building user trust and familiarity.
- Law of Feedback: Provided immediate feedback on user actions, ensuring they felt in control throughout the trading process.

Outcome
The result was a highly successful mobile trading app that resonated with users.
The introduction of dark mode was particularly well-received, providing a
customizable interface that suited various user preferences.
The SF
Quotes feature, developed in collaboration with the SF Sekuritas research team,
became an indispensable tool for traders. The Smart Order and SFAST Plan
features allowed users to automate their trading strategies effortlessly, while
detailed reporting gave them clear insights into their financial
performance.
Launching the SFAST mobile app from scratch was a
significant milestone. The app's intuitive design and powerful features
have led to a remarkable 90% increase in users, underscoring its success in the
competitive fintech landscape.
